Use day old sliced French bread and BUTTERMILK to make the most incredible French Toast.

Pro Tip: Slice the bread between 3/4" and 1" thick.

INGREDIENTS for  BUTTERMILK FRENCH TOAST – ¾ cup buttermilk – 4 eggs – ½ teaspoon salt – 3 tablespoons maple syrup – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 3 tablespoons butter – 8 slices of bread

Combine all the French Toast ingredients, except butter, in a wide brimmed baking dish.

Whisk until all the  French Toast ingredients are thoroughly blended.

Soak the French bread slices in the liquid buttermllk ingredients for about 20 seconds on each side.

Cook the French bread slices in butter for about 2 minutes on each side.

Cook until golden brown and a little crispy on both sides.

Cook in batches, and keep the French Toast slices warm on a baking sheet in a 170°F oven until all the slices are cooked.

Serve delicious Buttermilk French Toast with syrup, butter and fresh fruit.
