Have you ever taken a tried and true recipe and made it even better? When it comes to green bean casserole...  This recipe is it!

1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon minced garlic 4 - 5 cups green beans fresh, about a pound and a half ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons white wine 1 tablespoon soy sauce 5 ounce can sliced water chestnuts, drained and chopped 1, 10.5 ounce can cream of mushroom soup 2 cups crispy fried onions

1. Trim the ends on a pound and a half of fresh green beans. There's no need to dice them into small pieces.

2. While you are at it, slice the canned water chestnuts before adding them to the green beans.

3. Add green beans to the skillet or Dutch Oven. Season with salt and pepper and add white wine and soy sauce. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.

4. Remove from the heat and add water chestnuts, cream of mushroom soup and 1 cup of the crispy fried onions.  Stir to combine. Preheat oven to 350° F

After baking, the full-length green beans should be softened enough to serve using a large spoon.
